work environment/working conditions
The work environment for a veterinarian is kind of unique, in its own way.
You work inside, in an animal clinic. You work days, nights, weekends and even holidays you wouldn't normally work, like Christmas for example. But what's unique about it is that there's no specific range of hours you work. You may ask how, but it's simple really. Your clinic could be open 24/7 and every worker there works different shifts.
Your shift could be over and you're just about to leave, but if somebody comes in with an animal that got hit by a car and no one else is available at that moment, you cant't just say "sorry, my shift is over" and walk away, you're going to help. Another example is if you're not open all day every day and you are just about to close and somebody comes in, again, with an animal that is seriously injured, you can't say "sorry, we're closed", 1 That will lose costumers and 2, That's part of the job.
